Reading Summary 1

The book begins with a prologue, where three men are in the woods. These men were part of the group he fight and defend the "Wall". They have run away, and Will is the young boy who finds the dead people first. He runs back to tell the other two, but when they get back to the bodies, the bodies are gone. Not long after they wonder if it is the 'Others' where there is a tail behind these mysterious immortal things  yet most people do not believe in them. We are lead the believe that the people who kill these three men are part of this group. Once the story begins, we get introduced to many characters. Honestly it felt a little hard to follow because it felt like a new character was being introduced on every page and they had some importance to the story. There are a few families, the main two that hate one another are the Starks and the Lannisters. The main events I thought were Dany getting married because she was so young and so against it. Yet her brother, being the man of their house did what he wanted with her in no regards to what she wanted. He is hoping that with her marrying a king, they will once be in power and in control of their land like they had been years before. One of my person favorite parts was when they found the baby wolf like things in the woods. This scene really made me in enjoy the character Jon. Jon is a bastard child to Ned, who king of North. In this scene he convinces his dad to let the children keep them, by purposely calling himself out of the family by not getting a puppy. But what really drew me to him was the fact that he decided that the one that was left behind and shunned, and the one that was most likely to die first would be his. This had a sense of badass type of attitude where he sees what he is, and learns to use it to help him in a way.
