The
first 75 pages of “Game of Thrones” is pretty confusing. But as I continued
reading it started to piece together and I was able to start making guesses
about what was to come. The prologue starts off as a very attention-grasping
beginning. It was pretty creepy to read and very tense. I am still waiting for
these very strong and ghost-like people to come into the rest of the book.
As
for the rest of the story, I think I have some parts figured out, how Viserys
& Dany are out to get their kingdom back and I feel as though that kingdom
is what belongs to the King Robert right now. So I am just going to go ahead
and assume that there will be some sort of battle/meeting between the groups.
One
of the opening scenes was with a beheading and little Bran. I was a little
shocked when it said that he was only 7. At 7 he was still strong enough to
watch this and to know how he had to behave. This brings to mind about how we
have been talking about violence and its affects on kids. This little boy and I’m
sure many other children are exposed to such awful violence at such young ages
and they are seeing it being portrayed by their own parents and know that the
same actions will be expected of them in the future. It kind of blows my mind.
Even
Jon, he’s only 14 and he is already begging to be a part of the Wall. He claims
he is grown up and a man but that age is still a child to me. Same for Sansa,
they are talking about her getting married and she is only 11! These kids are
being forced to grow up so early because they have so much expected of them. No
wonder there are so many fights and battles, it’s all they know. I expect the
rest of the book to keep the same pattern of violence just as the beginning
had.
