GoT 2

So far, I’ve been enjoying whenever Tyrion’s point of view chapters come along. He always has some sort of advice to give someone and the fact that he has flaws himself and is looked down upon in society makes it especially interesting. He has been telling Jon lately to embrace that he is a bastard and to use it to empower himself. I think that his advice will come in handy down the road with Jon and maybe even some other characters.
In the scene with Catelyn and the man that tries to kill Bran, I thought that Martin used a wonderful job of descriptive language. It made it really exciting and intriguing. I also liked how the wolf, something that Catelyn doesn’t necessarily like, was the thing that saved her life along with Bran’s.
I like that Martin makes all of his characters so different. I love that Arya and Sansa are the complete opposites of each other. The scene with Joffrey, Arya, and Sansa really showed their true personalities. Later on in Eddard’s point of view, I decided that I really do not like Cersei. The way she treated Sansa and Arya made me really mad and even though Lady did hurt the boy, she was just protecting Sansa and Arya.
Out of all the scenes that I have read so far, I thought that Bran’s was the most interesting. The conversation that he had with the crow and the way he almost seemed to fall slowly and take in what was happening. I don’t know if that was sort of a dream-like thing that was going on in his head when he was not awake but I found it really cool.
When Catelyn gets to the South and talks to Petyr, I did not expect him to tell Catelyn that the dagger belonged to Tyrion. That caught me off guard but also made me question why Catelyn didn’t know it was him in the first place. I don’t recall the book describing the man as being short. Maybe I missed something, though.
The only question I have is how Tywin Lannister is related to anyone? Is he a brother or an uncle?
