GoT 2

The book has got a lot more intense and started to move faster in the recent reading. Someone attempts to kill Bran and Catelyn almost unfortunately got caught up in the middle of it but one of the dire wolfs was there to save the day. Ned also left to go to the south with some of the kids to protect his family. And then for the first time we also have a fight between the two sides as Arya mauls Joffrey. What I like most about this section is how big of a role the direwolfes play. One direwolf which was Brans helped save the day while another caused conflict because Aryas direwolf beat up Joffrey. I also really like how the author makes the reader like Ned. Ned is an honest person and loyal to his kingdom as he tries to save it. The most power belongs to the Lannisters but I expect multiple power shifts as the book has just started to get really exciting. Also we as readers get hints that winter is coming which probably will be a symbol for a period of chaos. My only question leading into the next reading is, what does winter symbolize?
