I haven’t become drawn to a
favorite character yet, but I do find the story quite interesting especially
how the parents treat their children. We have found out that Jon, the bastard
son is now taking the Night Watch. Jon’s life will now be revolved around the
wall and he will be surrounded by other “criminals”. Bran, who is adored by his
mom, has been in a coma for a week or so after being pushed off the tower for
catching the queen and her brother having an intimate relationship. His
survival has caused the Lannisters a large problem. When he awakens he can
share the secret, which would result in doom for the Queen. While he is in a coma someone tries to kill
him but his direwolf protects him. The only one who cares about Brans situation
is Catelyn, she makes it her priority to find out who tried to kill her son, she soon discovers the weapon belongs to the Lannisters (but she doesn't know what Bran saw).
Yet she still ignores Jon as he bid adieu and heads for his life along the wall. She believes that Bran was pushed and didn’t
fall off the tower after all after she finds long blonde hair in the tower
itself, making her suspicious of the Queen. Ned and his daughters decided to go south with the King, but he actually
had the decency to say goodbye to Jon. Their goodbye is quite emotional,
claiming Jon is a Stark by blood, even though for his whole life he was told
otherwise. This tells us they even though he is a bastard son, Ned still loves
him. Ned is not afraid to show that he cares for his son, but Catelyn wants
nothing to do with him.
Why would Jon want to be on Nights watch since it is such a horrible lifestyle?

When Bran was asleep what did the
crow in his dream represent?
