It starts out with lord Eddard and his men going to dispense the kings justice. Bran who is the son of
Eddard get to join as he's never done before. They capture a man and briefly question him which then
leads into Eddard executing him. Robb who is Brans older brother believes the man was killed for no
reason but Eddard assures him that he deserted the knights watch. They then discover a group of some
sort of special wolves who are not familiar south of the wall. The phrase winter is coming seems to
bring fear to people and Catelyn seems more afraid because she thinks that Eddard will go beyond the
wall into the north. Catelyn then delivers the news to Eddard that Jon Arryn is dead which hits Eddard
hard. Viserys is then making Daenerys look good in hopes of arranging her to marry Khal Drogo. It
then goes into Daenerys life story which leads to us as readers being informed that this is the first time
that the brother and sister will not marry from that family. It then goes to Eddard meeting the kings
party and him paying his respects to his loved ones. It then goes to Jon who's is a bastard who wants to
join the knights watch. Jon hates being a bastard and runs out of the hall as someone give him the idea
of fathering bastard children. I still kind of don't understand what is going on through a lot of this book.
I just kind of understand the just of everything but I sometimes find it hard to understand the fine detail.
The questions I have are what is the bigger significance of the wall and also how come there are so
many sexual relationships between family members.
