I don't have any real clarifiying questions at this point

Game of Thrones - Reading #2
In this reading we encountered many new turns in the book.
One big aspect here is the direwolves and their impact on the characters. Bran’s
wolf, which he eventually names Summer, saves Catelyn from an assassin attempting
to kill Bran. In Sansa’s chapter, there is a fight between the children, in
which Arya’a wolf attacks Joffery and defends both Arya and her friend. The new
importance of the wolves has made a big impact on the plot and the character’s
as well. The increase in the wolves’ presence I think leads to a foreshadowing
to what may come in the future for the children and their wolves. Another big
theme in this reading deals with the “coming of winter”. Both in Bran’s
chapter, and in Ayra’s chapter, we learn that clearly winter is coming. In Bran’s
dream the crow tells him, “Now you know why you must live…because winter is
coming” (pg. 163). Later in Ayra’s chapter Ned tells her, “In winter, we must
protect one another, keep each other warm, share our strength’s (pg. 222). I
think this makes it clear to the reader that winter is definitely coming, and
that isn’t a good thing. At the end of Tyrion chapter as he took one last visit
to the wall, he has a meaningful conversation with Jon. Jon goes on telling
Tyrion that his uncle Ben has still not returned, and that if he is not back
soon, “Ghost and I will find him” (pg. 214). Tyrion then thought to himself, ‘And
who will go find you?’ (pg 214). This of course leaves the reader with another
foreshadowing statement. Will Jon and Ghost go out looking for Ben? With Tyrion
then go looking for Jon? I think this section of reading left us with a lot of questions,
but at the same time provided us with some clear themes and important messages.
I think at this point my so called, “favorite character” is Ned, I think he is
a great father, and a great leader. Although strong and powerful in his own
way, he remains very humble.
