GoT: 2

The book is really starting to develop as Ned moves to the south. When the children first received their wolfs their mother was found to have been killed by a stag, the animal of the Baratheon house, it seems a prophecy came true when Robert ordered the wolf to be killed for biting his son. This presents us with the theme of the unfair spread of power. Even though Arya told the king that her and her friend had not attacked the prince it was still a crime even though the children had done nothing wrong and thus the children were punished for something they didn’t do. We also see a more realistic view of the kingdom from the wall. Jon Snow is the only one in his training class to have ever held a sword before coming to the wall and was reminded that on the wall most men (like him) were bastards or born from whore mothers. Another big development is how the house of Lannister and Stark are starting to become enemies.  Ned and Cersei are developing a relationship of being polite to each others faces but clearly disliking each other. As the hate between Lannisters and Starks develop it will be interesting what will happen between Sansa and Joffrey and Tyrion and Jon. Tyrion and Jon have become good friends so their friendship will be tested and Sansa and Joffrey have been told that they will be wed so things will soon become very complicated.
