Within this reading Dany has stood out to me the most, and actually throughout all of the book. I think her rise to power is fascinating and has had the most character development overall. In her first chapter of this section she shows her power by being sympathetic to a girl who is being raped, causing it to end. I believe this connects to Dany because in the beginning of the book she felt unready to be intimate with Khal Drogo, in a way maybe she felt she was losing her innocence in an equivalent way to rape. Although she does love Khal Drogo, and owes her loyalty to him swell as her future, but it is not her future at risk anymore, it is Khals. He is injured and refuses to see the healer to cure him of his serious injuries. Due to Dany's kind heart the girl she saved repays her thanks by being able to attempt to heal Khals wounds, seeing her doctoring skills Dany asks the girl if she will be willing to help deliver her child when the time comes.
This question is a foreshadow to Danys last chapter as she goes into labor, just has Khal Drogo's symptoms and wounds get worse resulting in him being on the verge of death. The biggest question lingering from this is what will Dany end up doing if Khal dies? Is she even fit enough to be Queen, and with this new power will she take over all of the 7 kingdoms at once or will she do it over time? With the Lannisters and Starks being manipulative and sneaky, will they turn on Dany if she tries to take the throne?
