GOT 5

A lot went on in these pages so I decided to focus on one concept: Fly or Die. We saw this earlier in the book with Bran’s dream of the crow stating Bran could either fly or fall. Flying would allow him to survive, while if he chose to fall he would die. This concept is continues when Tyrion and Catelyn arrive at The Eyrie. A disturbing image is set up with Catelyn’s sister and her seven year old son, Robin. Even Tyrion who is never surprised by what humans do is disgusted and flabber-ghasted with what is going on between them. Robin pulls himself away and says “I want to see the bad man fly!”. We have no idea what this means but it has been lingering chapter to chapter in the book and we are finally reaching the climax of the novel. One thing we do know for sure is that this flying and falling cannot be god. Tyrion is then introduced to the jailer, Mord, and is put into a cell. We then discover the Sky Cells, a three sides jail cell that allows you to leave anytime you want except if you step off the edge you’ll fall to your death. This puts your freedom on edge and makes you realize you have the power over fate, but the kingdom has complete power over you.
