Game of Thrones
There is an incredibly interesting dynamic in this section for Eddard and Sansa Stark in this section. I found it be very interesting that though the relationship between Sansa and her family members has been strained, to an extent, that their is some true valuing of Sansa about her family. During her chapter at one point she thinks to herself that she must be strong, like her mother, so that she could do as she needed to do. Sansa's attitude up until that point had been very approving of the Queen and the Lannister way of life and yet she still has that desire to be more like Catelyn than Cersei, even though she has been aspiring to be Queen. It has seemed as though Sansa has cared very little for her siblings, unconcerned with Arya, angry at Nedd, and yet she worries for them first and asks Joff to grant mercy to her father. Then we see the other side of the captive family members with Ned. He obviously has gone to great lengths to keep his honor and keep his daughters safe. And yet as he sits in the dungeons faced with the option of admitting his crimes saving his own and daughters life he dislikes the idea because of his honor and that he feels that he has done the right thing and to admit fault would make him dishonorable. But he is also considering his daughters safety. I think that this section is very important in our learning about the relationship of Eddard and Sansa.
