GOT-522

Overall Catelyn's role in her chapter has little to do with her and more to do with her impulsive sister. Her sister ends up releasing a manipulative Tyrion and his helper Bronn who end up finding safety in midst of killers. John finds out that he and the rest of his class of boys are being promoted to the nights watch early, and while happy, Jon worries about Sam and asks for his promotion as well so that he might remain safe. Ned is fulfilling the duties of the King in his absence to find that the Gregor Clegane  has caused destruction to a city and Jamie Lannister has fled to his father side. The debate is what to do in the situation at hand, and who is going to try to stop Clegane. At the same time, Ned is looking into Jon Arryn's death more and finds out more concerning people and their loyalties and their conspiracies. Cersei is revealed to have all three of her children birthed by her brother. The king returns from hunting and is to die, so Ned is to take over the kingdom until his son is put on the throne. Ned never tells Robert about his illegitimate son, so he forges the papers and tries to get Stannis Barrisstan to take over the throne. Stansa has been told that she must return home. She becomes much of a brat about it and has no love for her sister; she wants the fancy lifestyle. Jon becomes angry when he doesn't receive the position he wanted in the nights watch and gets a lesson from sam who is gaining more confidence as the days go on. He goes to the woods to give up his loyalties and in return has his dire wolf bring him back a hand which was very unexpected.
Overall, there has been a huge character development in Sam who seems to gain confidence with his backstory of never being able to learn from his father. Ned still for some strange reason rejects the throne even though he has the ability to gain it at his wishing, but he still holds true to honor even though it might be thought that sitting upon the throne could very well be an honorable thing. Catelyn loses power in the shadow of her sister, and this is the first time we see Cersei somewhat normal. The only thing confusing about Cersei is her pass at Ned. I also don't understand why Ned relays a lot of information to a group of people he doesn't really trust. Oh, and Dany watches her brother die as she is now taking up this role as a mother and a protector of her son who is supposed to take over the lands etc. So why do Arya and Catelyn, two strong figures fall off as powerhouses? Why is Cersei making a pass at Ned. Does Dany believe the dragon is dead too. Her brother is no dragon and they watched him die, Dany believes theres no dragon but stallion within her, and she was willing to give up her "strength" the eggs.
