Wednesday Homework G.O.T

I believe that the television series of Game of Thrones was done extremely well. I also think that it is a series that I may begin to watch myself but just from the first episode that we watched in class there were some small changes between the book and series that I don't think that I appreciated. I am hesitant to give criticism jus because I think the written version of anything will always be better because every character is picture perfect because they are in your head. Once you see the actor playing your favorite character, if they do not live up to the expectations you've set up in your head you may be set up for disappointment. The first change that I noticed was the way that Ser Waymor Royce died. I thought how it was described in the book with him losing in a battle with the white walker showed the true danger of them. But in the series he was killed by a surprise attack and I thought it sort of did the job combined with the beheading of the other ranger, also showing the size of one. But still I would have preferred the duel. I also liked the way that Will found the dead bodies in the book better because it set his character up as someone important that was very good at moving through the woods silently and without being noticed. In the series he simply rides up on horseback and crawls to the top of a small hill, very disappointing compared to what I was expecting. But I could also see how the directors wouldn't want to waste time setting up a character that was going to be  beheaded before the pre show subtitles.
