GoT End

Ah we have finally reached the epic end to the book. So much has changed yet somehow the cycle of killing and the lust for power was the same as when the Targaryans were in power. Each character has seemed to change, take Sansa for example: she has stopped being blinded by the high courts and her "love" for Joffery that she couldn't see what Joffery or his family were really like. I almost pitty Sansa because now she is being held captive by a boy she thought she loved just after her father was killed and she has no idea what has become of her sister. Neds end was probably the most surprising to most readers. Ned being killed was such a huge point that the author made especially since he plays such a huge role in the book. I think that some symbolism was involved in killing Ned as well. The main theme of the book is this lust for power which we have talked about in the past, Ned was one of the few characters who ignored the power and always tried to do the right thing. I think by killing the only character who was honorable all throughout the book and by killing him as the start to the war i think the author is implying that when it comes to life or death decisions men will pick to live with their family over honor every time. I think the author is saying that in this up and coming war honor is not the end goal its power and revenge. The dragon eggs hatching along with Khal's death were also important details to pay attention to with the end of the book. Khal dying exposes Dany a lot, she now has no army and the people who are following her are to weak or old to fight. The good news is she has dragons now so once they grow up she will have the power to take back the 7 kingdoms, that is assuming they are given a chance to grow up and not taken from her. I have recommended this book and the series to several people because each book has a character or situation that they can relate to. This book is timeless in the sense that man is always searching for power will always be apart of our history and future. The theme of family verse honor doesnt apply to our generation as much and life or death decisions like the characters in the book face dont apply to us but it still very interesting and draws the reader in even more.
