Game of Thrones HW due 4/26

When I first watched an episode of Game of Thrones it was in class and the characters were the exact opposite of what I expected them to look like.  I didn’t really have an idea of what to expect the characters to look like but through reading the book I formed my own images of what I thought the characters would possibly look like to me.  I think I preferred to create my own images of the characters personally.  I think Martin did well with turning this into a HBO series. It wouldn’t have been nearly as exciting if he simply made each book a movie.  I personally think I prefer to read the book but again it is definitely a good show worth watching as well.  One particular scene that grabbed my attention and I’d like to talk about is the beheading scene and the trip back to Winterfell where they find the direwolves.  I think Bran and Jon’s relationship is interesting and portrayed well in the book.  First Bran and Jon are both not as I pictured, however they do fit together well in the show.  You can really see how Jon takes care of Bran when Jon tells Bran not to look away or else their father would know.  It shows that he is helping develop Bran into a man as well as looking out for his best interest of not disappointing his father.  Also, when the Starks find the direwolves, Jon hands Bran the first one and backs Bran up when he is trying to convince Ned to let him keep the direwolves. I think in this particular scene you can see the courage of Jon displayed very well and I got the same view of him in the show as I did in the book.  Also his acting is played very well which makes him an even more powerful character.
