GOT final

I thought the end of the novel was craziness!  To be honest I did watch the episode of the show before I read the end of the book, so I was expecting it, nonetheless, the ending was still super dope.  I was reading about the ending of this book in one of my sources and the author was saying how bizarre it is to end with a cliffhanger like that but he also discussed how this really propels the theory forward and helps the show, in particular, because it opens up new paths of adaptation.  Anywho, I really liked the end of the novel because I really just wasn’t expecting it at all.  I know Martin hints towards it and this was absolutely more prominent in the book than in the show (which is interesting).  But I totally agree that this ending was really the best way to end the book because it goes against all classical writing ideas and this book is already so rebellious is only makes sense.  While I did like the book there were definitely times were the reading didn’t get dull, but it got wordy I guess or super metaphoric.  I liked to watch the show after the reading just because it provided a really good visual and really cleared up some of the confusing parts of the novel.  The show went at a quicker pace and I think that is a really successful aspect of the show because the events in the book are really fast paced, but because of the way it is written and because it is harder to comprehend it just goes at a slower pace which is kind of a drag during action scenes and things like that.  It is really hard to decide my favorite character because there  are a lot of characters I could really connect with and I really enjoyed going into their perspective, but I think my top characters are Tyrion and Arya.  Tyrion is an obvious favorite character because he is such a key character, such an important part of the story and he is a comedic relief and Martin uses this quality of Tyrion really well throughout the story creating a really good balance of drama while adding those needed comedic breaks.  I also really enjoy Tyrion because of how the actor portrays him in the show.  Arya is just a badass little girl and I feel like she is a character that a lot of female readers especially, can connect to because she is that tom boy, super strong girl and that’s a really attractive quality in a character especially in this book because most girls do not act as she did.  Martin really makes readers root for her and gives her a lot of appeal especially towards the end when readers start to collect sympathy for her position.  She is a character I am super intrigued in and I want to read the other books just to know her story, where she goes from here.  I would totally recommend this book and have recommended this book.  I really want to read the other books now as well.  It’s funny because when we first started this book I really wasn’t excited about it at all and I really hated it at first, but once I started getting into the story it really got exciting and interesting and awesome!
