Responses to Articles
Before reading any of the articles on the effects of media violence on real world violence I had absolutely no stance on the issue. I had not given the subject much thought besides it being brought up in a phycology class once or twice. While reading the articles I found that it was not changing my stance on whether or not gun violence in media has a negative effect on the youth but just think that parents should control what their children have opportunities to view on television. While reading the statistics on the amount of violence with or with out guns in media that children view by the age of eighteen and the statistics on the amount of parents that say there should be higher rules on gun control i also began to think that if they want there to be a change in what there kids are seeing than they should simply set tighter rules within there own home instead of asking the majority of Hollywood cinema to change. So consequently I would also have to say that reading through the articles did not change or give me an opinion different from before I started reading.
