Articles
These articles all consider violent video games being the direct cause of violent behavior but I disagree with that. It all lies within the person, and as a teenager in today's society I think its easier to say you can tell who would be more likely to have violent behavior or to act out. I do not believe violent video games have a direct correlation with violent behavior in those that play them. I do think that violence in games and media may add to the violence of a person that is headed in the direction of violent behavior and has already shown aspects of that behavior. Perhaps they would get ideas from the game/movie or think that what happens in it could happen in real life. But at the end of the day I believe that someone who acts out in a violent manner would do so no matter what--whether it came from playing video games/watching movies or not--violence is everywhere in today's world not just in games & fake movies. My brother plays all sorts of violent video games from COD to some assassin's thing along with watching all of the action/gory films, and I am positive that these will not turn him into a violent person.
