Prior to reading the articles my initial thoughts on violence in the media were that I didn't believe that it made a big impact on anyone. The only people I think that would be most effected by it most is children that watch excessive amounts of violence on tv. I do believe that violence in the news does scare people and shouldn't be talked about so much.
Before reading article 1 I would have thought that video games would make people more aggressive, but I also think they aggressiveness has more behind it than just the video game like family life. After reading the article I changed my mind. I was surprised to find that there is not much proof have aggressiveness being linked to video games. Also, I never would have thought playing video games could have a positive effect like visuospacial cognition.
I completely agree with article 2. I don't think violence in the media makes a huge impact at all. People enjoy watching violent things on tv because no one is actually getting hurt and its entertaining. Other people's lives are just messed up and have been around violence themselves and thats what they no. Media doesn't make criminals. I liked this article and I agree with it and I agree that producers should learn to handle the question better.
Article 4 kind of annoys me. I don't think it should be up to Hollywood to change its shows and movies i think it's up to the parents to control what their kids are watching. A child under the age of 13 probably shouldn't be watching very many pg-13 movies. Or if they do watch violent shows parents could also talk to their kids about violence. If parents are concerned they should take a little bit more control over what their kids are watching and doing.
